MFA statement on European Commission’s proposal for securitisation regulatory reforms

Brussels, Belgium — MFA Chief Advocacy Officer Jillien Flores issued the following statement in response to the European Commission’s proposal on securitisation regulatory reforms:

“We are pleased to see continued support for revitalising EU securitisation markets with the Commission’s proposal to make it easier for investors to participate in securitisations. However, the reforms should go further to unlock the potential of securitisation markets by removing duplicative due diligence requirements for all investors, regardless of whether the securitisation is issued by an EU or non-EU entity. This is a vital reform to boost European growth and build a strong Savings and Investments Union. Streamlining these requirements will reduce unnecessary costs, support market participation, and help attract more global capital into EU securitisation markets. MFA looks forward to engaging with the co-legislators to help realise the full potential of securitisation markets in the EU.”Jillien Flores, MFA Chief Advocacy Officer
