Position Title: Coordinator, Government Affairs

Location: Washington, DC (hybrid)

Position Summary: The Coordinator, Government Affairs will be responsible for providing executive support for the Chief Advocacy Officer, Managing Director, U.S. Government Affairs, and administrative support for the Government Affairs Team. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Chief Advocacy Officer and Managing Director, U.S. Government Affairs, this role will coordinate meeting schedules, organize and participate in conference calls for the executive and respective committees and forums.
  • Prepare, organize, and distribute official correspondence for senior leaders.
    Arrange domestic and international travel arrangements to facilitate individual and group meetings with the association’s members, Board of Directors, elected officials, and government regulators.
  • Update internal and external documentation involving members, Board of Directors, and perspective members.
  • Coordinate and help execute strategic Government Affairs events.
  • Assist in the development of policy materials, including PowerPoint presentations.
  • Engage heavily with members while maintaining strict confidentiality with all information acquired.
  • Provide invoice support and expense statement preparation, to include verifying charges, facilitating approval process, and reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to government affairs activities.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers.
  • Provide administrative support to other internal teams, as needed;
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in senior-level executive support. Experience within Government Affairs or financial services is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented culture that values the importance of being a good teammate, communicator, and partner.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-start, think ahead, problem solve, and engage proactively with high professionalism, reliability, and accountability.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency using a CRM (i.e., Impexium) tool is a plus.
  • Occasional domestic business travel is required.

Disclaimer: The annual base salary range for this position is $75,000 – $85,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Please note that the annual base salary range provided is a general guideline and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors. These factors include, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, years of work experience, work location, education/training, internal peer equity, and external market data.
