Argentine resolution on private placements could stimulate capital flows and drive economic growth with targeted amendments

MFA supports the goals of the resolution and recommends increasing limit on number of investors in a private security to foster broader market participation and liquidity

Washington, D.C. – MFA supports the objectives of the Argentina Comisión Nacional de Valores’ (CNV) proposed General Resolution (CNV 1009/2024) on the private placement and cross-border offer of securities in a joint comment letter submitted today with SIFMA.

“The CNV’s proposal represents an important opportunity to modernize Argentina’s capital markets. The proposal could stimulate capital formation and economic growth by enhancing market integrity, improving transparency, and empowering investors to make more informed decisions. However, for the CNV to enhance Argentina’s capital markets it should increase the limit on the number of qualified investors in private securities offerings. This will foster broader cross-border participation and increase liquidity in Argentina’s markets.” Bryan Corbett, MFA President and CEO
