MFA statement on the European Commission’s banking package

Brussels, Belgium — MFA issued the following statement in response to the European Commission’s banking package published today:

“The EU will need both bank and market-based sources of business finance to meet its competitiveness goals. Private credit complements bank lending by providing long-term, flexible finance that helps businesses grow, investors to diversify their portfolios, and strengthen the resilience of the EU financial system. The EU must embrace market-based finance to build a strong Savings and Investments Union that supports long-term growth.” — Jillien Flores, MFA Chief Advocacy Officer
