Zach Gates is MFA’s Vice President, U.S. Government Affairs at MFA. In this role, he works with the Government Affairs team to execute advocacy initiatives in Washington, closely collaborating with Members of Congress and the Administration.
Prior to joining MFA, Zach served as Staff Director of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Capital Markets, advising Republican Members of the House Financial Services Committee on securities regulation, capital formation, market structure, investment management, and corporate governance. Zach also held several policy roles for Congresswoman Ann Wagner (MO-02), including Chairman’s Designee for the Subcommittee on Capital Markets and Senior Legislative Assistant. During a decade in the House of Representatives, he worked on legislation and oversight involving U.S. capital markets and financial services policy.
Zach earned a BA from the University of Alabama.
